Print in Motion

Louise Fili is undeniably one of the greatest typographic designers of our time. Her work draws upon the classic flavors of her Italian roots and modern groove of her native New York city. Infused with the stylistic effervescence of art nouveau, deco and bauhaus, Louis Fili’s vast body of work emotes a quality of timeless elegance and precision. Being deeply inspired by her sage design philosophy and visionary work she has produced throughout her long and illustrious career, I created this book cover and motion graphic animation in her honor. The text of this design draws from her own words, famously proclaiming, “Love what you do. You have to combine design with passion, otherwise there is no reason to be a designer.” This work is an homage to the great Louis Fili and the endless inspiration she infuses into my work and being.
